On March 11 -12, 2009, Mark Greengarden, owner and real estate broker of Century 21 Greengarden Realty, Inc. attended an intense two day Certified Distressed Property Expert Designation training course administered by the Distressed Property Institute, LLC. and sponsored by the New Haven Board of Realtors.

 

The Distressed Property Institute, LLC. developed the Certified Distressed Property Expert Designation for individuals going through the emotional turmoil of property foreclosure. They believe these individuals need to speak to realtors who have the skills to assist them properly. And this is precisely why Greengarden took the training course for Certified Distressed Property Expert Designation. "I wanted to find the best way to assist sellers heading towards foreclosure or in foreclosure. And I wanted to learn from the most successful real estate professionals, dealing with short sales, so that I can give my clients the best service possible," said Greengarden.

 

The Certified Distressed Property Expert Designation course that Greengarden attended was instructed by experts in the field from Florida. According to RealtyTrac, an online real estate marketplace, Florida ranks fourth in the nation for number of foreclosures.  

 

The instructors covered techniques for negotiating and packaging to help all those people in trouble.
