I learned recently of your internship from the career services of my university.  The opportunity of publicizing my work is of particular interest to me, particularly for the exposure to criticism that I need to improve my writing.  I would also enjoy evaluating submissions by others, learning from their strengths and weaknesses.  I believe that as a writer and a critical reader I could enrich the flux of ideas among the people who visit your web site.

During my college years, I have taken numerous creative writing workshops under the short story discipline.  These workshops have taught me not to be afraid of novelty, to experiment with form and technique in order to accommodate the story`s plot.  I have learned to give and take criticism, to better myself with it.  I hope that, should I qualify for this internship, it will be another stepping stone towards my dearest ambition to write a novella for my senior thesis.
