Philip Lawrence was born in Winnfield, Louisiana in 1962.  He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in Psychology in 1986 and from Tulane Law School in 1996.  After college, he served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Marines and was assigned to an infantry regiment on the front line during the Gulf War from 1990 to 1991.  He recently completed his first book, Mirages and Flashbacks: Reflections of a Front-Line Gulf War Marine, a memoir about his experiences in the Gulf War.
