I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have a bachelor's degree in Asian American Studies with an emphasis on popular culture. For the last 10 years of my life, I have been a competitive figure skater. Along with my figure skating career came opportunities to write in figure skating club newsletters.

I am currently a co-editor for the Channel Islands Figure Skating Club newsletter. As a result of my competitive career as a figure skater, my main interest is sports journalism. I grew up watching sports with my family, and that is where my interest in sports journalism sparked. While I am interested in watching games and reporting on outcomes and such, I am more interested in the politics that lie within sports. I am currently working on a book about the politics in Southern California figure skating competitions.

I would like to bring in controversial articles regarding sports. My goal is to induce change within sports, create controversy, and most of all, increase awareness of what is going on in the sporting world. I want to open the eyes of the public and show them a world of more than the glitz and glamour of the triumph of athletes.
