Jamal Al Ali

Occupation: doctor (general surgeon) graduated in 1995/ journalist (health reporter) for ABC news Baghdad bureau since 2005.

I born and grow up in Iraq in a family of four sons and one daughter all of them became doctors later on, my parents were teachers and I am the oldest son.

I worked for the Iraqi ministry of health and served in Iraq as a general doctor since 1995 and then as a general surgeon in 2004 and most of my serve was in Baghdad.

My work with the ABC news was in 2005 and I was a cameraman, interpreter, reporter and organiser for many of important stories about the violence victims and health demand of Iraqis at that time.

The ABC news made many interviews with me in Baghdad and I was on (world news tonight, where things stand, and night line news) for many times.

I worked with Terry Moran, Terry McCarthy, Elizabeth Vargas, David Wright, John Hendren, John Berman, David Kerley, Jim Sciutto and many other ABC correspondents and anchors and I still have some of the DVDs and taps for some of these interviews and even some of my work as a surgeon inside my hospital in Baghdad, also I have letters from them.
