Little girls are said to be made of sugar and spice, but I was made of dirt and grass. Instead of having tea parties with my stuff animals, I opted to watch wrestling with my daddy. I liked wearing dresses and bows for church, but I loved watching football after Sunday’s dinner.
As a sophomore at the University of Florida, where I am double majoring in Journalism and Sports Management, that love has continued to flourish. My goal is to write editorial articles for a prominent magazine or online site. An internship with your magazine will help further me in pursuit of my dream.
While in high school, I wrote for my newspaper staff, which was read by more than 4,000 student body members. I held such prestigious positions as Features Editor and Managing Editor. By being on staff for three years, I learned how to interview, write and edit. Through that amazing experience, I became a better writer.
While in college, I have taken Introduction to Journalism and other classes to help with my writing. Currently, I am taking MMC2100 Writing for Mass Communications, which will help me tighten my writing skills.
I am willing to write any stories requested of me, and I would love the chance to display my talent. I will be a great asset to your company. I am a well-rounded person, who is very flexible. Also, I work well with everyone and in different environments. I am a very dedicated and persistent person, who loves a challenge.
