State: Florida College: University of Central Florida Major: Journalism Contact Information: Ileana.Llorens@gmail.com I am a junior at the University of Central Florida majoring in journalism (editing track). I hope to one day become a copy editor for a major city newspaper. I am currently trying to gain as much experience as possible to land a good internship. In order to gain computer skills, I have set up a blog so I can learn more about HTML, CSS, PHP and other forms of website maintenance. Though I am most interested in editing, I also enjoy writing human interest stories. I became interested in journalism through an elective journalism class during my senior year of high school. After the class, I continued to write for the school newspaper, “The Maverick Post.” The summer after graduation, I worked for the CEO of both REEL Education and 1394 Productions, where I wrote press releases and edited business agreements and the REEL Education website. I am very excited to begin a career in journalism and to contribute to the Student Operated Press.
