After numerous hours of staying after school for her high school newspaper and magazine club, Melissa realized writing would play a major role in her life. She has taken several creative writing and journalism classes and has written articles for the Unwind Magazine. Most of her writing is based on experiences and observations.

She is originally from Virginia Beach and currently lives in Germantown, MD. She is an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland University College. She is majoring in communications and minoring in journalism. She will graduate in May 2006 and would like to continue her education with a master’s degree in journalism. She is a member of the Asian American Journalist’s Association and the Association of Women in Communications. Melissa believes writing is a passion. It’s a love for words, a hunger for news and a need to inform.
