Major: Print Journalism

As a print journalism major student, I believe the preeminent way to gain professional writing and reporting experience is to intern for a newspaper and/or magazine company.  As I've been told, "experience is the best teacher.”  Although I have obtained much experience prior to entering college, at prestigious newspaper industries, such as New York Amsterdam News and the New York Association of Black Journalist; I would like to continue my learning to enhance my hands on experience in the field of print journalism.

My accomplishments to date encourage me to be determined to achieve my goals, of becoming a professional national journalist and investigative reporter.  As stated in my resume, I have had articles published to date, and am currently a contributing writer for The Observer, The State University of New Jersey Rutgers newspaper.

As a potential intern, I have much to offer, as well as to learn.  At the New York Amsterdam News, I was able to report and edit prospective news articles and see first hand the layout of the newspaper, before it was sent to printing. Interning at New York Association of Black Journalist, gave me the opportunity to visit CBS News, understand life behind the scenes of a newsroom, to converse with reporters and news casters in addition to researching a topic that was pressing to me and reporting on it. As always my goal is to increase my comprehension of the print journalism field from all aspects.  My contribution is my current knowledge in the field, my work ethics, attitude, diligence, and focus to learn from the outstanding to be amongst the elite.

In closing I am articulate, self motivated and can readily adapt to most any type of challenge.
