Renata Shiloah M.S., R.D., C.D.N, is a Registered Dietitian, licensed and certified in the State of New York. As a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Long Island Dietetic Association, and the Greater New York Dietetic Association, she is proud to offer her services to you. Renata received her Bachelor degree in Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Science from Queens College in New York. She then went on to do her Dietetic Internship, along with her Master degree at Long Island`s Stony Brook University Hospital where she was awarded for hard work and dedication.
Her past and present work experience includes numerous volunteer activities, Good Samaritan Hospital, Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital, nursing homes, public school districts, and private counseling. Along with her practice at "The Rock Health & Fitness Club" in Astoria New York, Renata was a wellness coordinator as well as an educator for the "Silver Sneakers" senior program at the health club. In the past she has served as a part of an internal medical practice, where she has developed a bariatric weight loss program, as well as an instructor for Cornell University`s Cooperative Extension`s senior programs. In addition, she has created newsletters and nutrition education materials for Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital`s outpatient clinic, and the Huntington and Bay Shore School districts. She currently holds the position as Director of Nutrition for a network of four outpatient clinics run by a state Senator. She develops patient materials for distribution based on current research, also develops and implements nutrition based programs that benefit the patient population.
Also among numerous publications Renata has been quoted in: Teen Vogue (May/June 2004), ADA Nepdg & Ncc Journal, Health Wise magazine (May 2005), Get Active Magazine (June 2005), Bi Polar (BP) Magazine (2005), American Dietetic Association Journal (September 2005), SHAPE Magazine (2005). Articles: HealthWise Magazine (May 2005), MORE Magazine (date to be announced). Media appearances include: UPN Channel 9 News the I Team (May 2005). Currently articles in the New York Times and Daily news have been written regarding her nutrition/fitness programs. Renata is a fitness buff herself; she maintains her health by running every morning before attending work. Renata keeps current on the state of the art nutrition research, and has presented numerous lectures focusing on scientific abstracts to students and medical personnel.
