Ray Downs

Ray Downs is a recently retired professor of English and Creative Writing. His entire teaching career was in The Republic of Mexico. Ray taught at The American College (Colegio Americano de Cuernavaca) and ("John Dewey University") both in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. He also taught at (U.D.E.M.) University of Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Ray Downs has been published in Animal Planet Magazine with the short story "The Final Hour".

The first years of his professional life Ray spent in Law Enforcement. For the past five years since retirement he has traveled the nation with an approved agency program by Homeland Security giving lectures at *MAJOR UNIVERSITIES preparing men and women for entry level Federal Law Enforcement positions. Ray feels that his experience in Latin America and Law Enforcement allow him to feel very close to the characters in his novel "Wind Across The Amazon" Ray wrote most of the book while in the Amazon Jungle in Ecuador.
