I am a junior at Coppin State University. My major is english, with a concentration in advertising and promotion. I hope to get into writing, directing, and producing commercials. I also enjoy writing so I want to write a few books. I was senior editor for my high school year book for two years. I had to interview the athletes, the faculty, and I had to cover the events that took place around the school. Although I have had no real experience since then, I believe that old  habits die hard and it would not be difficult for me to get back into the swing of things. I would like to provide articles spanning over the different subjects in society, keeping in mind what the SOP represents. I really would like a chance to nurture my skills as a journalist, ,and maybe tap into some advertising while I am at it.

Coppin Makes New Moves - Coppin State University recently made headlines when the institution lost its president, Dr. Stanley Battle, after a little more than three years.

Violence in Timor- Leste leads to International Intervention - Having been living with its hard won independence for so long, it must have been hard for the powers that be, for Timor Leste to accept the intervention by foreign military and police forces. Outside help came because of Timor Leste's inability to control some of the violent elements of the population and security forces.

International Cooperation meetings to guard against pandemic - In Moscow on April 28, Health ministers from the Group of 8 countries, met and discussed steps to join to gether to battle infectious diseases which include pandemic influenza, HIV- AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. An agreement was signed on the 27th of April to improve South Asia's potential to respond to a pandemic.

Breast milk banks: an idea taken to the extreme? - Our society is accustomed to having things at our fingertips. We shop online, we can pay bills by phone, and we can even stop and play live television in our homes (courtesy of TiVO). We also have at our disposal facilities that harbor a few of the many necessities we need; blood banks

Three Mo Cheers for Three Mo Tenors - On Tuesday, March 28, 2006, I had the pleasure of attending the musical show, Three Mo Tenors. As indicated by the title, the show consisted of three singers: Kenneth D. Alston Jr., Ramone Diggs, and Marvin Scott.
