New Bin Laden Audio Tapes: Kinder And Gentler Terrorist?
"A new audio message purporting to come from al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is on Islamist websites, say reports.
In it "Bin Laden" expresses concern over natural disasters and calls for greater aid efforts for the victims, said US-based intelligence group Site.
The 11-minute undated tape shows a still image of Bin Laden and scenes of people in disaster zones receiving aid.
The tape would be Bin Laden`s first public comments since March, but its authenticity has not been confirmed."
Osama Bin Laden`s audio tapes are a reminder of America`s failure to capture the world`s most wanted terrorist, and of our abject failure to destroy the Taliban. Our young men and women have been dying in vain in Afghanistan since 2001.
In these two latest audio tapes from the terrorist mastermind we see his kinder and gentler side. Osama doesn`t call for the destruction of the Great Satan, instead he expresses concern over the victims of the devastating floods in Pakistan.
Osama is out to win the hearts and minds of the people of Pakistan, while taunting the United States.
AT one point in the recording Osama states that more people are affected by climate change than wars. The one-time terrorist firebrand is now as boring as Al Gore, what is the world coming to?
"In January, US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said he had received no reliable information on his whereabouts for `years`.
I have a feeling that the next American administration will still be getting tapes from Osama.
