Glee Tops The Beatles! Glee Rules Billboard Charts!
"With six new entries on this week`s Hot 100, thanks to their Britney Spears-themed episode, Glee has toppled the Beatles` four-decade-old record for most singles placed on the chart. The cast has registered 75 total singles total, surpassing the Fab Four`s 71, the BBC reports. Only Elvis Presley (108 singles) and James Brown (91) have scored more. But even those two icons might see their records fall by the end of Glee`s second season: the show`s Michael Jackson episode will reportedly air after Super Bowl XLV."
As a music lover and a writer I admire the musical genius and songwriting brilliance of the Beatles, but unlike most baby boomers I don`t think it`s a sign of the End Times that the cast of Glee has toppled the Beatles` record.
The Glee cast led by the goddess Lea Michele is immensely talented, and they richly deserve our praise and admiration.
You combine Britney Spears` magic with Gleeks` fanaticism and all sorts of records will tumble.
The Michael Jackson Glee episode will garner sky-high ratings, and I wouldn`t be surprised if that episode breaks all kinds of records.
The Super Bowl and a Michael Jackson-themed Glee episode on the same night! Dear God, that will be a day to remember.
