Insanity! Cops Want To Ticket Cars Left Unlocked
"Commissioners in a Pennsylvania township are considering a measure to allow police officers to ticket motorists who leave their parked cars unlocked.
Police Chief Nestel said data from 2008 to the present indicate more than 75 percent of reported thefts from cars took place when the vehicles were left unlocked."
This is another example of our government acting as Big Brother, what`s next will we be fined if we don`t install deadbolts in our homes? Will we be issued a ticket if we leave our lawn mower on our front lawn?
Sometimes I am in a hurry and I choose to leave my car unlocked while I run into a convenience store. That`s a choice that I make, and I realize that I`m taking a calculated risk.
But most of the time I lock my car before I park it on the street or in a parking lot. I don`t want the police to ticket unlocked cars, because then the thieves will start breaking into locked cars.
Certainly the cops have better things to do than to check to see if cars parked on the streets are locked.
