Israeli General Cannot Visit Britain Without Fear of Arrest for War Crimes`

By SOP newswire2

General Gabi Ashkenazi, Head of Israel`s armed forces, who masterminded the three week bloody assault on Gaza in 2008/9 that killed hundreds of non-combatants including 89 defenceless children and 49 women " according to the IDF`s own figures " has complained that he and his officers cannot visit Britain without fear of arrest for war crimes`, according to today`s media.

But, there is now a proposal before Parliament to amend the law on Universal Jurisdiction, as a direct result of intensive lobbying by Zionist pressure groups and by Israeli politicians.

However, it is argued that supporting the Israel lobby is not conducive to British democracy in that it confers no benefit to the majority of the British electorate but that it exerts a disproportionate influence upon Parliament that has the effect of manipulating British foreign policy to support the agenda of a foreign power.

Certainly, there should be no amendment to the existing law in order to satisfy the demands of anyone alleged guilty of war crime. That would be a prima facie dereliction of international law, the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) of which the United Kingdom is a member state.
