Goldfish Will Protect World Leaders At G20 Summit

By Robert Paul Reyes

"In addition to thousands of heavily-armed police and troops, six goldfish will put their lives on the line to safeguard world leaders at this week`s G20 summit in the South Korean capital.

The Convention and Exhibition Centre in southern Seoul which is hosting the event will use the fish to check the purity of the water supply to restrooms, an official said Tuesday.

`The fish also symbolise an eco-friendly water policy, which recycles used water for the restrooms,` Oh Su-Young, PR manager at the centre, told AFP, adding that they were just part of the inspection process."

First we witness the spectacle of monkeys providing security at the Commonwealth Games in India, and now we now we have goldfish serving as part of the security detail at the G20 summit in South Korea? I don`t think America has anything to worry about, we will remain the most powerful country in the world for decades to come.

The Reuters article doesn`t specify how the goldfish will check the purity of the water supply to restrooms, let`s pray that the poor fish won`t be swimming around in diplomatic dung.

I hope that PETA has a chapter in Seoul, somebody needs to speak out on the behalf of goldfish.
