Lady, 100, Enrolled At A Community College! You Go Myrtle!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Maryland woman who marked her 100th birthday says she intends to continue taking classes at the local community college.

Myrtle Berglund, who celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday with her friends and family, said she has completed four classes at Anne Arundel Community College in recent years and plans to further her education in the spring, WBAL-TV, Baltimore, reported Wednesday." UPI

It`s never too late to learn something new, and I applaud Myrtle for having the gumption to enroll in college courses at her advanced age. Myrtle may forget everything she learned in her college course by the time she comes home, but at least it gives her something to do.

Myrtles favorite college course was quilting. Quilting? Does she attend a community college or a recreation center for old biddies?

Many community colleges allow senior citizens to sign up for free, and I hope that more elderly folks take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

You go Myrtle, and why don`t you knit me a sweater?
