Ghana To Ban Sales Of Second-Hand Undies

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Ghana plans to enforce a ban on the sale of second-hand underwear beginning in February, an official said on Monday, citing the health risks involved in the hawking of the garments by street vendors.

"We are collaborating with the Ghana Standard Board to halt the importation of second-hand underwear into the country as a measure to promote good health and reduce government`s expenditure on health," said Appiah Donyinah, director of import and export at the trade ministry."

The word Ghana means "Warrior King", but even though Ghana is one of the world top gold producers most Ghanaians are peasants clad in second-hand underwear and not Warrior Kings wearing silver loin cloths.

Any underdeveloped country where there is a sizeable market for second-hand drawers will never join the ranks of the world powers.

We are facing a long period of hard economic times in America, but I hope I won`t ever hear this announcement at K-Mart:

We have a Blue Light special in Aisle 17! Second-hand Boxers on sale for only $1.00! $1.50 if washed!
