Cops Plead With Public: Don't Call To Report Snowball Fights!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"An English county`s police department is pleading with the public to stop calling the emergency line to report snowball throwing.

Nottinghamshire Police said hundreds have calls have been pouring in about snowballs since the weather took a turn for winter, with 120 calls alone made between Tuesday morning and Thursday morning, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.

`We are advising people to only ring us if there is an incident with snowball throwing that it seems only police can deal with,` a police spokesman." UPI

Snowball throwing isn`t an act of hooliganism or an exhibition of anti-social behavior; it`s an expression of mischievous merriment.

When I see folks throwing snowballs at each other I`m tempted to join in the fun, not call the police.

Only a Scrooge would call the police when he sees kids hurling snowballs at each other. Anybody who calls the cops to report snowball throwing should be charged with abusing the emergency system.

People should get a grip, unless some dimwit is throwing rocks covered in snow, don`t waste the time of the police officers.

I can`t wait until it starts snowing so I can toss a few snowballs.
