Titusville police said Jack Arnold Yandle III, 30, who turned himself in to police Tuesday after learning of a warrant issued for his arrest Monday, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation Dec. 3 on a man suffering a heart attack at a Circle K store in Titusville, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Investigators said paramedics showed up and took over from Yandle, who then allegedly stole the victim`s wife`s purse while she was distracted."

Most law-abiding citizens would not have intervened and tried to save the heart attack victim`s life. I wouldn`t have performed CPR on the victim for liability reasons, but I would have called 911.

Arnold Yandle listened to his better angels, and he attempted to save the man`s life. But then he gave in to his baser impulses, and stole the purse from the victim`s wife.

Arnold is like all of us, a flawed human being who sometimes does good and sometimes does evil.

Arnold turned himself in to police after learning that a warrant was issued for his arrest. Obviously Arnold isn`t a hardened criminal, and is the spirit of Christmas the police shouldn`t press any charges against him.
