Smart Pooch Refuses To Leave Warm Bus And Step Out Into The Cold

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A dog that boarded a Scottish bus in frigid temperatures and refused to leave has been reunited with its owner, animal authorities said.

The Cairn terrier boarded the bus on Wednesday at the Dumbarton Road stop in Glasgow. Witnesses said the canine had icicles hanging from his fur and refused to budge from a warm spot on the vehicle, the BBC reported Friday.

The dog was taken to the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals` building in Glasgow and was soon identified as 11-year-old Hamish by owner Ashley McGuinness."

Hamish is the Rosa Parks of the canine world; can anyone blame the pooch for refusing to leave the warm bus? The poor thing had icicles hanging from his fur, and he wasn`t about to step out into the frigid temperature.

Hamish reminds me of my old dog, when it`s snowing and I open the back door so he can go out to do his business he refuses to budge. You can`t teach old dog new tricks, and you can`t make an ancient dog do something he doesn`t want to do.

The old fellow has a lot of spunk, and I hope he will provide his owner with a few more years of good times.
