Only In California: Free Joints For Food Donations

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The owners of a California medical marijuana dispensary said they collected 11,000 pounds of food for charity by giving out free marijuana cigarettes.

Nancy Black and Phil Hicks, owners of the Granny Purps dispensary in Soquel, said they offered the complimentary joints, with a maximum four per day, to patients who brought four or more cans in to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank holiday food drive, the Santa Cruz (Calif.) Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Black said the dispensary handed out 2,000 of the complimentary joints and collected 11,000 pounds of food for the drive."

THIS is an outrage, an absolute outrage that you had to be a patient to qualify for the complimentary joints. Think of the thousands of poor folks who could have been fed if everyone qualified for the free weed.

However, I commend the owners of the medical marijuana dispensary for thinking outside the box. They are heroes who are serving their community by providing medical marijuana to their patients and food to the poor.

The patients who received the free joints will have to stock up on food: Doritos, Ding Dongs, Cheetos...

If a politician ran on a platform of a chicken in every pot, a car in every driveway, and a joint in every home, he would win hands down.
