Thief Leaves Wallet At Scene Of The Crime

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Alaska State Troopers didn`t have to do much work to come up with a suspect in the New Year`s Day theft of an ATV trailer.

His wallet was found in the snow next to where the trailer had been parked. And when they went to the address listed on the ID in the wallet, they found the trailer.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Gene Mitchell Utley, 24, of Fairbanks. He faces one charge of second-degree theft, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Troopers were called to a home in the 2400 block of Poppy Drive in North Pole on Saturday morning after the trailer went missing. The owner said she paid more than $10,000 for the trailer in 1999."

Here`s a case that even Barney Fife might have been able to solve. It`s not every day that a perp leaves his wallet at the scene of the crime.

When the cops arrived at the address listed on the ID in the wallet, they were met by the suspect`s mom. According to the Fairbanks News-Miner she told the cops, "If the trailer had been stolen Utley probably had something to do with it." Not exactly a ringing endorsement of her son`s integrity and good character. Dear old mom should kick her worthless son out of her house, she is enabling his criminal career. (if you can call it that)

But if she kicks the loser out of the house, who will remind him to wipe his rear end when he goes to the bathroom, and to tuck his wallet all the way down his pocket so he won`t lose it.

This clown is always dropping stuff like his wallet, when he`s behind bars he will soon learn not to pick up the bar of soap when he drops it in the communal shower.
