Kooky Evangelist Harold Camping: Jesus Is Coming May 21, 2011
"A Christian radio evangelist in California who has already made one mistaken prediction about the world`s end now says May 21 is the date.
Harold Camping told The Philadelphia Inquirer in a telephone interview last week he has simple plans for the day -- to `watch and wait` for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He believes Jesus will gather up 200 million of the saved while the rest will die and decay."
Camping isn`t entirely wrong, we are all going to die and decay. We live, we die -- that`s an immutable truth. But at 90-years-old Camping is going to die and decay a hell of a lot sooner than most of us.
I don`t care what the nutty evangelist plans on doing May 21, but I am curious what he will do May 22 when he and his followers are still around, and he`s been exposed as a fraud.
Camping has already made one incorrect prediction about the end of the world. In the Old Testament it`s not three strikes and you`re out, if a man who claimed to be a prophet of God made one wrong prediction, he was put to death.
I`m not arguing that Camping should be put to death May 22, the Grim Reaper will take care of the con artist soon enough.
The news is replete with stories about dead fish, dead birds and dead cows, but the world won`t end on May 21, 2011.
Dec, 21, 2012 -- well that`s another story...
