New 'Wonder Woman' to Rise Again on NBC

With the pilot of a new Charlie`s Angels pilot on ABC, "girl power" is about to rise again on the small screen when NBC has given the greenlight for a new Wonder Woman pilot from acclaimed, award-winning creator/writer/producer David E. Kelley, best known for Picket Fences (1992-96, CBS), Chicago Hope (1994-2000, CBS) The Practice (1997-2003, ABC), Ally McBeal (1997-2002, FOX), and Boston Legal (2004-08, ABC).  Besides "female empowerment", this will be NBC`s third series in the comic-book/superhero genre over the last few years with Heroes (2006-2010) and now The Cape with ER alumni David Lyons in the titular role: a former cop framed for murder and presumed dead, as he takes on his son`s favorite superhero to fight crime and corruption while seeking evidence that will vindicate him and get him back to his family.
This potential series would take place in the City of Angels, where corporate executive Diana Prince fights evil and injustice as the feminine and strong Wonder Woman. No word yet on who will be able to succeed Lynda Carter, who originated the role for three seasons (1976-77, ABC; 1977-79, CBS). Meanwhile, suit up and fight back with The Cape Mondays at 9p, and go to court with Oscar winner Kathy Bates in Kelley`s new series, Harry`s Law, at 10p on NBC.
