Former American Gladiators Star Storm Now Homeless In San Diego
"A star on a popular 1990s TV show talked to 10News about her current life as one of San Diego`s many homeless citizens and a co-host from `The View` has offered to help her get her life back on track.
Debbie Clark was known as "Storm" on the TV show "American Gladiators." For three seasons, beginning in 1991, Clark left many would-be contenders on their backs."
When the show ended in 1993 Clark was unable to find a job that paid as much as her TV gig. She ended up homeless when she left her home to escape an abusive relationship.
"American Gladiators" was one of my guilty pleasures, and I have fond memories of the show, and especially of Storm. The former Spandex Warrior is one of those celebs that make you think, "I wonder what she`s doing now?"
I`m sorry to hear that she has fallen on bad times, fortunately she has received offers of help from Sheri Shepherd of "The View" and other celebrities.
When we see a homeless person, we often think he`s a bum who has never done anything productive in his life. But a lot of us are only a couple of missed paychecks away from being homeless. That homeless person asking you for a quarter, may be a former teacher, accountant, or a former TV star.
