Breaking News: Gasoline Hits $5.39 a Gallon in Orlando, Florida

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

According to MSNBC, gasoline prices have hit an all time high of $5.39 a gallon for regular, $5.44 for plus, and $5.49 for premium at Suncoast Energy`s gas station near the airport in Orlando, Florida.

Economists say that if gasoline prices stay above $3.60 a gallon it could result in a half of percentage point loss in the GDP.  Furthermore, a half of percent loss in the GDP will result in the loss of 600,000 jobs in the United States.  This could also stall the current economic recovery that we are presently in.

The National average is $3.70 a gallon.  Why are gasoline prices so high at this gasoline station in Orlando, Florida?

If you see gasoline prices that are above $5 a gallon we want to know.  Please email us at newsroom@thesop.org.
