Chillicothe, Ohio: Madness Prevails At Fire Station
"After an anonymous e-mail tip, the marshal`s office discovered the station`s fire alarm system was inoperable, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Until then one firefighter must continually walk from the basement to the second floor and back or the stationhouse will be closed as a fire hazard."
And people wonder why I believe that life is basically absurd...
A Fire Chief discovers via an anonymous tip that a fire station`s fire alarm system is inoperable. He orders that a new alarm system be installed within a couple of weeks, but in the meantime the genius decrees that one firefighter must continually walk from the basement to the second floor and back.
This is the perfect premise for a comedy starring the late Don Knotts as the the Fire Chief, and the late John Candy as the hapless fireman who must continually climb up and down the stairs.
The Fire Chief should sell tickets so that citizens can enjoy the spectacle of a firefighter climbing up and down the stairs all day.
By the time the new fire alarm system is installed the town of Chillicothe, Ohio will have the fittest firefighters in America.
