Mom Goose Deserted By Mate, Deer Watches Over Mom And Eggs

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Officials at a New York state cemetery said a mother Canada goose hatched her eggs under the watchful eye of her protector, a local deer.

The Forest Lawn cemetery in Buffalo said the seven eggs, which the mother goose had laid in an urn, hatched early

The events were watched by a white-tailed deer that drew national attention by taking up the role of the goose`s protector when the bird was abandoned by her mate"

This is a wonderful story of an unlikely friendship, and new lives born in a place of death. No matter how bleak things may seem, we must never despair and we must never give up hope.

The mother goose was abandoned by her mate, but a deer stepped up to the plate and spent hours each day watching over the mother and her eggs.

After her babies were hatched the mother goose led them to a nearby lake.

I hope this heartwarming story will give us an appreciation for the wonderful animals that are all around us.
