Moron On Bicycle Robs Drive-Through Dunkin' Donuts

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Police in Connecticut said a bicycle-riding robber threatened a clerk at a Dunkin` Donuts drive-through and pedaled away with a cash drawer.

Meriden police said Vernon Lewis, 42, threatened the drive through worker at the East Main St. Dunkin` Donuts and fled with a cash register drawer full of cash, The Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported Thursday.

An officer spotted Lewis near the public library a short time later and he was found to be carrying $321 cash. He was identified as the suspect by Dunkin` Donuts employees, police said."

I`m not judging the Dunkin` Donuts employee who handed the cash register to the bicycle-riding robber, she could have been a teen girl. But if a robber on a bike threatening me, I would have pelted him with donuts.

Lewis was quickly apprehended by the police a few blocks away -- you can`t pedal faster than a police cruiser.

This oxygen thief has 45 previous arrests for robbery; I wonder if he used a lawn mower as a getaway vehicle for one of his other robberies.

It`s an indictment of our criminal justice system that a criminal can have 46 arrests for robbery. After his sixth or seventh arrest he should have been executed or sentenced to a life term as a habitual criminal.
