Bob Dylan Frequently Cited In Legal Briefs And Opinions

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Legal experts say the song lyrics of Bob Dylan are cited more than those of any other musician in court briefs and opinions, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

It speaks well of the legal profession that attorneys and judges frequently cite from such an erudite and eloquent singer/songwriter. As long as they don`t break out in a Bob Dylan song in court, I don`t think anyone objects to hearing pearls of wisdom from Dylan.

Dylan remains relevant today, he`s still releasing albums and touring all over the world. Dylan isn`t an "oldie but goodie" act, in concerts he sings his classics as well as songs he`s recently written.

The times they are a-changin`, twenty years from now the most cited musician in court briefs and opinions may be Snoop Dogg:

"Fo shizzle judge, the defendant has his mind on his money and money on his mind, but he didn`t rob the bank."

I think I will need one of Snoop`s doobies to survive in the future.
