"The flying pips, shattered shells and wet shrapnel still haunt farmer Liu Mingsuo after an effort to chemically boost his fruit crop went spectacularly wrong.

Fields of watermelons exploded when he and other agricultural workers in eastern China mistakenly applied forchlorfenuron, a growth accelerator. The incident has become a focus of a Chinese media drive to expose the lax farming practices, shortcuts and excessive use of fertiliser behind a rash of food safety scandals."

It`s axiomatic that Chinese products are inferior and dangerous and probably manufactured in a sweat shop. Hundreds, if not thousands of Chinese products  have been found to contain dangerous levels of lead.

Walmart should change its name to Leadmart since most of its merchandize is manufactured in China. You should put on protective clothing before entering Walmart.

But it`s not just Chinese TV`s and toys that re unsafe, a person would have to be nuts to eat any agricultural exports from China.

Hello! Watermelons are exploding in China because the hapless farmers applied chemicals to them. Don`t buy Chinese products! Don`t shop at Walmart!
