Promoting Academics through Creative Expression

Promoting Academics through Creative Expression

By SOP newswire2

Promoting Academics thru Creative Expression Program. P.A.C.E. is an organization that started in 2006 to help children find positive ways to express themselves and stay in school. The objective of P.A.C.E. is to raise awareness about the ever-increasing dropout rate in California and raise funds to provide outlets for our youth to explore their creative sides, thru music and entertainment.

Since 2002, over 1.2 million dollars have been cut from LA county schools, eliminating extra curricular activities and positive outlets for self expression. Many schools do not offer after-school and/or creative-based activities. Governor Schwarzenegger`s proposed 4.4 billion dollar education cut increased the average classroom sizes by 23% and decrease per pupil spending by $664. Each dropout, over his or her lifetime, costs the nation approximately $260,000. In 2005-2006 the number of dropouts peaked at 21,629 students. As of December 15, 2010, the dropout rate was adjusted from 21.7 percent to 21.5 percent.

By providing Middle and High School students with positive, educated role models who can effectively communicate the importance and relevance of graduating high school, P.A.C.E. will serve as a gateway for improved academic success and increased participation in local creative outlets. Students contemplating dropping out will reevaluate their options after experiencing the P.A.C.E. Program.

In order to reduce our student risk factors, and promote student achievement and social success, we are seeking funds to expand the service area of the existing P.A.C.E. Program. Any help offered would be appreciated and will go a long way in forwarding our cause. In return for your generosity, the name of your company will appear on our posters, banners, advertisements, and brochure.

Thank you for considering our request.

Sincerely,

Thomas D. Heck

President & Director- P.A.C.E.
