Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

By Tony Graff

Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the world of Victorian England in the role of Sherlock Holmes. This December, A Game of Shadows will hit theaters. Alongside Downey will be Jude Law as Watson, and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler.

In this sequel, Holmes is tracking the elusive true nemesis of the first movie, Dr. Moriarty, who spent much of the movie wrapped in secrets and surrounded by shadows. This time they have put a face to him. Jared Harris is cast as the mental genius going against detective Holmes. Harris has lent his talent to the Resident Evil: Apocalypse movie, and better known in the Mad Men TV show.

While not much is known about the story, and how Holmes will chase down this grandest of enemies, what we do know is that we will be introduced to Holmes` older brother, Mycroft. How big a role he will play or what he will be as a character is unknown.
Also the subject of fans` theories is Noomi Rapace`s character in the movie, Sim. The trailer makes her look like a fortune teller with an assassin side job or vice versa. Rapace is best known for playing Lisbeth Salander in the Millenium series (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet`s Nest, The Girl Who Played With Fire).
Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows is scheduled to be released the 16th of December this year.
