Law Abiding Folks Pay To Spend Night In Jefferson City Jail

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The cheapest room and board in Jefferson City, Missouri, over the weekend was at the county jail, and 170 people gladly checked in.

Cole County charged $30 a night for anyone who volunteered to go behind bars on Friday or Saturday night so officials could give the new jail a test run before it opened for real this week."

The worst crime that most of us commit is to rip off the "do not remove" tags from mattresses, here was a chance for cream puffs to spend a night in jail.

I would have jumped at the opportunity to spend a night in jail, it would be something that I could brag about for the rest of my life.

What makes jail a hellhole? The prisoners of course, spending a night in a jail that hasn`t opened yet would be a piece of cake.

Each guest got to keep his mugshot as a souvenir, and a T-shirt commemorating his night in the slammer.
