Outrage: Couple Being Sued Over Patriotic Yard Sign

"A Bossier, La., homeowners association is suing a couple in an attempt to force them to remove a sign supporting their son`s military service from their yard. The Gardens of Southgate`s suit, filed this month, claims the multi-colored sign Timothy and Jodi Burr have in their yard proclaiming `Our son defends our freedom` violates subdivision covenant restrictions on signage, the Shreveport Times reported Saturday." UPI Homeowners associations are fascist in nature, they make a mockery out of the cherished American principle that a man`s home is his castle. Walking in a neighborhood under the thumb of a homeowners association reminds me of the Stepford Wives movie where all the houses looked the same, and joy had been bleached out from everyone`s face. If you cherish democracy and freedom, don`t move into a community ruled by a homeowners association. Tim and Judy Burr have a right under the First Amendment to put up a sign supporting their son` military service. The leaders of the homeowners association are a bunch of Grinches who are probably also against apple pie, motherhood, and the Easter bunny, Tim and Judy have refused to take down their sign - more power to them!
