The Hunger Games Released First Images of Gale and Peeta

By Tony Graff

If you loved the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins as much as I did, then you`re probably following Lionsgate Productions as they prepare for next year`s release of the Hunger Games movie.

When fans first heard that Jennifer Lawrence, the young Mystique from X-Men: First Class, was selected to play the heroine Katniss Everdeen, they were skeptical if she could really become the main character. Lawrence stunned them on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, and converted hundreds to following the movie.

This week, images were released of Gale and Peeta, two young men Katniss`s age, and later the competitive love interests. While I am impressed that Liam Helmsworth and Josh Hutcherson were able to pull of the same stunning conversion process that we saw with Jennifer Lawrence, I`m already catching vibes that this is going to end up another Twilight saga.

Already, the internet is overloading with "Team Gale" and "Team Peeta" banners, signs, flair, tweets, and posts. Leave it to masses of fans to turn a dystopian war novel like the Hunger Games into a romance.

In the end, I`m still going to be one of the fans waiting for the first day to buy tickets to see The Hunger Games on March 26th, 2012. I may even have a shirt to wear specially for that night. But there will be many people who love the Hunger Games that are going to be turned off from the future Hunger Games movies (they are in development now) if it turns into the Dating Game with a side of war.
