Russia Wins Title in FIVB Junior World Championship: US Finishes 4th

The U.S. volleyball team came fourth in the FIVB Men`s Junior World Championship. 

In the bronze medal match, the U.S. lost to Serbia 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-13) on Wednesday and came fourth.   

Russia claimed the title for the eight time following a thrilling 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-12) victory over Argentina at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. 

Final positions: 1. Russia, 2. Argentina, 3. Serbia, 4. the U.S., 5. Brazil, 6. Iran, 7. Spain, 8. India, 9. Belgium, 10. Germany, 11. Canada, 12. Japan, 13. Bulgaria, 14. Tunisia, 15. Egypt, 16. Puerto Rico. 

Individual awards: MVP: Leonid Shchadilov (RUS); Top Scorer: Aleksandar Atanasijevic (SRB); Best Spiker; Leonid Shchadilov (RUS); Best Blocker: Igor Filippov (RUS); Best Server: Amir Ghafour (IRI); Best Setter: Jesus Bruque (ESP); Best Receiver: S. Kanagaraj (IND); Best Libero: Aleksey Kabeshov (RUS).
