The 'Italian American Oprah' Judyth Piazza Relocating to 'The Hawkeye State?'
Rumor has it that recently in LA, Iowa native Ashton Kutcher was asked if the rumors were true about the "Italian American Oprah" Judyth Piazza relocating to "The Hawkeye State." Kutcher said, "not sure but I know Judyth digs the snow and recently interviewed Dick Dale who is quite a cool cat."
I caught up with Piazza on Thursday in Vero Beach, Florida while she was boxing a few rounds with well-known boxing trainer, Gus Curren at The World Famous "House of Champions" I asked her, "Are the rumors true that you are giving up beachside living for the country way of life."
Piazza smiled and said, "not at all. I recently interviewed Dick Dale from "The Lawrence Welk Show" and Wendol Jarvis, Iowa Film Office Manager and Marketer who are both Iowa natives. A close friend of theirs and mine, Don Tietz invited us to spend some vacation time with him at the lake." Piazza went on to say, "Algona is a magical place and if the opportunity was to ever present itself, I would be proud to call Algona home." Readers may recognize Algona from the popular movie "Field of Dreams" starring Kevin Costner.
Judyth Piazza is best known for being the creator of The Student Operated Press and the host of The American Perspective Radio Program which features celebrity guests from around the world that share their words of wisdom with Piazza`s audience each day. Piazza was recently featured in the bestselling book Dream Reachers II by Betty Dravis and Chase Von.
For now, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Piazza and her posse.
Check out these great interviews with Algona natives Dick Dale, Wendol Jarvis, Erika Berg Jenson and Kelly Tigges. You can also read a fabulous story by Donna Cavanagh about World War II and the German POW camp in Algona.
