STAND UP FOR PEACE PROJECT RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE:  "TOWERS OF LIGHT"

The Stand Up For Peace  Project (SUFPP) has released a single of its healing anthem, "Towers of  Light," to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. The  song, inspired by the two beams of light which shine each 9/11 anniversary  at the Ground Zero site where the Twin Towers fell, promotes healing and  commemorates the heroes from that day. The song is available to be used on air on  programming related to 9/11, and also in live performances.

The song was debuted internationally at the  First Hiroshima International Peace Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, in November 2006, for  thousands of attendees and Nobel Peace Laureates including His Holiness the  Dalai Lama. "Towers of Light" was written  by noted New  York clinical psychologist Dr. Judy Kuriansky, a  well-known radio and TV personality, and by international composer Russell  Daisey, who are co-founders of the Stand Up for Peace Project, an initiative  that promotes peace, understanding and healing. They have performed the  ballad worldwide at peace festivals; conferences for the United Nations;  Global Harmony concerts and peace seminars; and in New York City at the  United Nations, the 9/11 Responders Day Ceremony, Universal Peace Day  Ceremonies, and Annual 9/11 Japanese Floating Lantern Ceremonies.

"The moving lyrics evoke feelings of that  tragic day, yet offer hope and connection that are so essential for  healing," says Kuriansky, who provided psychological first aide after  the 9/11 terrorist attacks at Ground Zero and at the Family Assistance  Center, as well as after other disasters including Hurricane Katrina, the  Asian tsunami and earthquakes in Haiti and China. Formerly in a girl band, she teaches  psychology at Columbia University Teachers  College and conducts peace workshops and  seminars worldwide. Daisey is  an internationally acclaimed pianist/singer/songwriter who has performed for  American presidents and world dignitaries, including Bill Clinton, George  H.W. Bush, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Al Gore,  former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, and the Chiniya Lama of  Nepal.

"Powerful, very powerful" -  His Holiness the Dalai Lama,  upon hearing the performance of "Towers of Light"

Daisey and Dr. Judy (www.drjudy.com) have collaborated on many songs  promoting pro-social values and healing, in many languages, including  Spanish, Japanese and Creole.

In addition to "Towers of  Light" (www.towersoflightsong.com), the  songwriting team of Daisey and Dr. Judy have written other songs of healing,  peace and eco awareness, including their signature anthem "Stand Up For  Peace" and their environmentally-conscious "Going Green," which are on their  upcoming CD release.

The song written for the 9/11  tragedy has been performed on other occasions of trauma in other countries,  like the Taiwan typhoon,  Haiti earthquake, and  Japan tsunami/earthquake. Says Kuriansky, "The message unites  all people in the global desire for healing and peace."
