Jack The Cat Lost At JFK Airport Has Tons Of Twitter Followers

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A cat missing at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York for the past two weeks has become an Internet celebrity, complete with Twitter account.

The feline, Jack, went missing from the belongings of Karen Pascoe while American Airlines staff were preparing for tropical storm Irene Aug. 25 and has not been spotted since, but he has gained a strong following online, WNYW-TV, New York, reported Thursday."

American Airlines has called in a pet investigator and a detective dog to help in the search for the elusive cat. If the feline catches a whiff of the detective dog he may hightail it to Manhattan.

If an animal achieves any kind of notoriety, the requisite Twitter and Facebook pages soon follow. I dare not look at Jack`s Twitter account, it will be depressing to see how many followers he has in comparison to me.

I love cats, in fact I own a furball, but I`m jealous at all the attention Jack is receiving. It`s not like Jack meowed and woke up a family, saving them from burning to death in their own home.

Jack got spooked and ran away during all the commotion over Tropical Storm Irene. I was frightened and ran out of my house during the recent East Coast earthquake, but nobody proclaimed me a hero.

But I don`t want to playa hate, I hope a catastrophe hasn`t occurred and that Jack will resurface and enjoy his 15 minutes of fame.
