In Honor of the International Day of Peace, Just Vision Announces Free Online Broadcast of the Film Budrus
The Global Room for Women is paying attention to the Middle East with our friends at JUST VISION - in a way that leads to peace.
In honor of the International Day of Peace, Just Vision is announcing a free online broadcast of its latest film Budrus on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011.
Hailed in The New York Times as "this year`s must-see documentary," and featured in major international news outlets, including Newsweek, The Economist and The Washington Post, Budrus tells the story of a Palestinian community organizer, Ayed Morrar, who unites members of all factions along with Israeli supporters in an unarmed movement to save his village of Budrus from destruction by Israel`s Separation Barrier. Success looks improbable until his 15-year-old daughter, Iltezam, launches a women`s contingent that quickly moves to the front lines. A trailer of the film and additional information are available at www.justvision.org/budrus.
Winner of multiple prizes at top international film festivals, including Tribeca, Berlin and San Francisco, Budrus is produced by Just Vision, an award-winning North American-Palestinian-Israeli non-profit organization that uses media to increase the power, legitimacy and exposure of Palestinian and Israeli women and men working nonviolently to resolve the conflict and end the occupation.
Budrus will be available for free streaming throughout the day on 9/21/11 at: http://mubi.com/films/budrus for viewers across the US. Check the website for updates about a live Twitter Q&A with Director Julia Bacha to take place during the day of the broadcast.
