Buddy The Surfer Dog Top Dog Again: Wins Fifth Surfiing Competition!
"A Jack Russell terrier named Buddy won his fifth surfing championship and became the first inductee into the Surf Dog Hall of Fame Sunday in California.
With Buddy once again the top surfing dog, owner/trainer Bruce H(o)oker of Ventura says it may be time for the 14-year-old terrier to retire" - UPI
More than 80 pooches competed in the surfing competition in which Buddy emerged as top dog. Buddy is a real hot dog, I bet he did at least on Hang 10. I would have been mortified watching so many dogs perform a skill that I could never master.
ESPN covers just about every sporting competition in the world, I`m sure ESPN/Animal Edition was there to cover the event.
In human years Buddy is older than Betty White, I`d say it`s time for him to retire. Buddy was given a year`s supply of dog food for winning the contest; I hope he will last another year.
The event raised more than $100,000 for the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe.
