Video: Gentleman, 80, Falls into Sinkhole Outside His Home

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Michael Ciron just wanted his morning paper. Instead, when he exited the house, the 80-year-old Long Island man soon found himself in an eight-foot sinkhole on his front lawn."

When you are 80-freaking-years-old just getting out of bed in the morning is a challenge, if you are able to accomplish this task without twisting your back or soiling your drawers you count yourself lucky.

An elderly person treasures routine above everything else, he doesn`t want any surprises. The last thing a senior citizen wants is to walk outside his front door to pick up his newspaper, and fall into a sinkhole.

Cirion screamed for help and his daughter called the police, thankfully the gentleman wasn`t injured. I don`t mean to poke fun at Cirion for screaming, if I fell into a sinkhole I would cry like a schoolgirl who is being chased by Dr. Phil on crack.

Kudos to the firefighters who rescued this delightful and brave gentleman. Let`s hope that Cirion will have no more unpleasant surprises.
