64 Drivers Cited For Failing To Yield To Cop Dressed As A Turkey!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Why did the turkey cross the road? To hand out 64 citations to motorists who failed to yield to the costumed officer, police said.

Las Vegas Metro Police said the number of pedestrian-crossing citations handed out Tuesday was an increase of 15 over the amount handed out during last year`s single-day Thanksgiving pedestrian awareness campaign, the Las Vegas Sun reported Wednesday."

I`m not surprised so many drivers failed to realize the pedestrian in a turkey costume was a police officer, you would except a cop to dress up like a pig.

Getting a ticket from a police officer is a humiliating experience; I can only imagine how embarrassing it is to be issued a traffic citation by a cop in a turkey costume.

However I don`t feel sympathy for drivers who failed to yield to the big turkey, and were slapped with a $195 ticket. The holiday season is a frantic time for all of us, but we must always yield to pedestrians.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers.
