British animal welfare charity The Blue Cross has won a £6000 prize for helping sick animals in London`s most deprived areas. The Blue Cross websiteinforms that the prize money will be used to fund their mobile veterinary clinic that is part of the charity`s Victoria animal hospital where hundreds of animals receive treatment annually. The Blue Cross thanked everyone who voted for them to get the prize and help animals in need of treatment.

The Blue Cross helps a large number of animals on an ongoing basis, including rescuing animals from life-threatening situations and providing emergency treatment to animals surviving trauma of different types. Many of their rescued animals are adopted out to loving homes. A recent example is Sandy, a seriously ill homeless cat, suffering from asthma and heart condition, that was found and treated medically by The Blue Cross. When Sandy got better, he was adopted out to a caring family where he will spend his coming Christmas.

The Blue Cross depends on help from caring people to help pets. There are a number of ways in which you may help. To help, visit now the HowCan You Help pageon their website!
