Santa Claus Is A Fraud! Viva Pancho Claus! Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas!

Pancho made his 40th annual visit Sunday to Lubbock and arrived at the Maggie Trejo Super Center with an escort made up of Hispanic Police Officers Association members."

Hispanic children can relate to Pancho Clos (also known as Pancho Claus), much better than they can identify with Santa Claus.

I`m surprised any kid likes Santa Claus, the typical Santa is a wino who reeks of alcohol, and is only inspired to say, "Ho, Ho, Ho" when he sees Lindsay Lohan on TV.

But children love Pancho Claus, Pancho never puts on a fake white beard and there are many different interpretations of Pancho.

I like Richard Reyes` version of Pancho Claus, and not just because he has the same surname as yours truly. Reyes` version wears a bright red zoot suit, and he travels with a fleet of lowrider cars.

If Santa Claus comes down the chimney of a house in the barrio, the inebriated intruder will probably get kicked to the curb. Hispanics should be proud of our culture, and that includes Pancho Claus. We should demand that Pancho, not Santa, visit schools in Latino neighborhoods.
