The Green Register has been one of our weekly "special` subjects for quite some time now, and this online community never ceases to amaze our readers.  Each and every day they offer new tips, suggestions,  `how-to` articles, as well as the latest information on products and services that help us all to  `go green` and save our environment.  The issues that The Green Register brings to the forefront are varied, providing incredible steps that we ALL can take in order to bring back nature and make this world a better and safer place to live for our children.

Yes,  `going green` is a true force to be reckoned with, and it calls for everyone to stop, listen and learn about all the different areas that we can concentrate on to save our planet.  Also, there are so many companies out there across the globe that are truly bringing innovative and unique services that will allow us all to live out our lives in a cleaner world.

Right now we are all getting our holiday shopping done in order to sit down around the tree or dinner table and be grateful for the family, friends and love we have in our lives.  Then 2012 will be at our doorstep.  The fireworks will explode, that mighty ball will drop in Times Square, and we will usher in a New Year that will, hopefully, bring with it better economic times, more jobs, and the ability to be proud of the hearts and souls that we and our neighbors own.  This is the time of year when we make promises to ourselves and others; promises that include how we will change ourselves and our lives for the better in 2012.  As we look for ways to transform, trying to better our health, deal with our jobs, and make our lives a little more stress-free, individuals either make resolutions that are small and easy to keep, or embark on huge life-changing challenges and situations.

The only problem with New Year`s resolutions is that they are often broken, especially if they are made without thinking them through, or creating a plan on how we can keep them no matter what.  So the first thing is to make sure that you really sit down and think before coming up with your commitments for the New Year.

Going green is a truly fantastic way to start off 2012, but the concept is so large in scale and scope, that many do not know where to begin.  They make a huge resolution and then have no idea how to begin to keep it.  There are some very easy and everyday ways to make your life more "green` and simple - ways that do not take a great deal of time or energy to get done.  One is simply to give up plastic bags.  When you go to the grocery store or drugstore - any store, for that matter - simply bring with you a reusable bag to put your purchases into.  It is as easy to remember as picking up your pocketbook or car keys as you head out of the house, so there is no worry or stress about remembering this one small step.

Considering the age of technology that we live in nowadays, it is extremely simple to begin paying all your bills over the internet.  Instead of having all that extra paper clogging up your mailbox, you can use e-billing to take care of what you owe. You will not believe how much this decreases your carbon footprint by simply reducing your use of paper, envelopes and even those special offer inserts that we all throw in the trash anyway.

It is very possible to take an extra minute before heading to the wastepaper basket in the corner, to ask yourself if there is any way to re-use the paper in your hand, eliminating more waste.  And, as always, recycle anything you can.  Even if you have to pack them up and drive to a depot once a month, it is so worth that one small step in order to save the world`s raw materials

There are also many ways to  `go green` around the house.  From beginning to compost, which will give you free fertilizer to grow that incredible garden you`ve always wanted, to perhaps the larger project of installing a water system.  Something smaller?  You can switch to an electric kettle when you boil water.  Something larger?  Replace old appliances with the most efficient energy-saving models on the market.

Okay exercise is the biggest resolution ever made by people.  They wish to lose weight, feel healthier, and look better in the New Year.  Walking is the absolute best exercise you can get, and you take a huge step in  `going green.`  You lose weight, help your heart, and by not using gas or emitting toxins in the air, you automatically are saving the environment every single day.  And if you don`t have time to walk to work, try utilizing public transportation.  This is way cheaper and keeps an extra car off the road that doesn`t need to be on it.  If you live in the city, a transit pass costs far less than you`d spend on insurance, gas, maintenance and car payments, so use what is provided.  You save an extreme amount of money and the environment all at the same time.

If you are going to buy a new car for the New Year, look at the electric and hybrid cars on the market today!  Sleek, stylish, and great for the environment.  But if you still wish for that exercise and weight loss, buying a bicycle is far better.  You never get stuck in traffic jams and the weight will literally fall off.

Now there is really no way to tell people how to change their diets.  There are avid meat-eaters and there always will be.  But what about becoming a vegetarian for only one night a week?  For only one night you`ll get a great, nutritious meal, save some livestock in the process, and feel a whole heck of a lot healthier when you go to bed that night.  One out of seven days is not exactly a lot to give up.

Beauty is, of course, another New Year`s resolution that is made quite frequently.  What about buying one or two outfits that are   `green fashions` - organic cotton, bamboo, and other sustainable, natural fibers.  There are some truly beautiful fabrics and outfits out there that will not only make you look stunning, but will help you feel good on the inside, as well.  Continuing along the beauty path, there are also all-natural cosmetics that are way better for your skin and complexion - so search those out to add to your beauty regimen.

These are just a few small ways that you can change your life and help the world at the very same time.  The Green Register is also the very first stop on your new journey to  `go green.` This online magazine is seriously a one-stop-source for information, data, updates and fun that allows all individuals and corporations to bring about the changes that are necessary to save our planet.

Usher in the New Year with resolutions that you know you can keep.  Open your life to the eco-friendly and environmentally-friendly products, services, construction, home design, foods - everything - that The Green Register can offer you!  You will NOT be disappointed!

Until Next Time, Everybody!
