Jammu and Kashmir Jama' at-e-Islami Condemns Boniyar Killing
Srinagar:The Jammu and Kashmir Jama`at-e-Islami Wednesday condemned the killing of a Boniyar youth in CISF firing.
"The killing of an innocent student Altaf Ahmad Sood of Barnat Uri in the indiscriminate and unjustified firing by the unruly CISF personnel at the peaceful demonstrators, is a beastly act which deserves a deterrent punishment," the spokesperson of Jama`at told Agence India Press.
The spokesperson alleged that at the time of start of construction work on the Uri power project, the people of the area were promised an uninterrupted power supply from the project but soon after its completion, this promise was broken and it proved a total fraud.
"When the people protested against this breach of promise, they were greeted with bullets. The NHPC is only exploiting the water resources, but only a negligible share of generated power is supplied to people of Kashmir which is a sheer injustice to them."
"He accused that the state government and the bureaucracy were fully involved in the decision making which were against the interests of the local people. Most of the decision making bureaucrats are either from outside of the state or non-Kashmiris who have not a remote interest in the welfare of the local people," he asserted.
Jama`at-e-Islami while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family of the Altaf Ahmad Sood also prayed for an early recovery of those injured in the firing incident.
Jama`at also demanded the expose of the bureaucrats who work against the interests of the local people, and demands the utilization of the local resources for the welfare of the people here. (AIPNEWS)
